|
Tad Nelson is a native Texan and a lifelong resident of the Galveston County. Mr. Nelson was born on Galveston Island and graduated from the local public high school, Galveston Ball, in 1983. After graduation, Mr. Nelson attended The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Business Management.
After graduating from Law School in Michigan, Tad Nelson started his legal career as a State Prosecutor for the Galveston County District Attorney's Office under the direct supervision of former Galveston County District Attorney and long time League City resident Michael J. Guarino. Tad Nelson was fortunate to serve under Mr. Guarino and served as an Assistant District Attorney from 1992 to 1995. It was during this time that Tad Nelson learned the importance of service and its importance to the community.
In 1995, Tad left the Galveston County DA’s office to enter private practice, with offices located in League City and Galveston. He immediately took and passed his Board Certification Exam, a level of expertise that only a small percentage of lawyers ever achieve, and has been providing the highest level of services to his clients ever since. Tad’s hard work and dedication to his work is the same approach and philosophy that he takes to the City Council.
Tad Nelson has been entrenched in his community for many years now. Mr. Nelson has served in numerous capacities throughout Galveston and League City to make his community a better place to live. Mr. Nelson currently holds Position 1 on the League City City Council; he is a Board Member of the Gulf Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters since 1999 and is also a Past President. Mr. Nelson is active in the Galveston Rotary Club and the League City Lions Club. He is also a sponsor for Bowl for Kids Sake, Meals on Wheels yearly Christmas funds drive, The Yagas Wild Game Dinner, and The Village Fair.
Tad & his office staff would like to encourage the citizens of League City to stop by his office at 820 East Main and discuss your concerns for our city. Tad realizes that the only way to improve League City for all is to maintain his open door policy that makes sure League City government remains by the people and for the people. ![]() |
