Wow! We have had a GREAT three years! As a city we are in the middle of the best and most prosperous time in our history. We have accomplished many things during my three years on council and with your support we will continue this exciting surge for the next three. Is it any wonder that we are League City Proud! When I asked for your vote in 2005 I told you that I would ask 3 questions every single time I was asked to vote. I promised you that I would always look for a positive answer to the following questions! Does it lower taxes? Does it reduce traffic? And finally, does it enhance our amazing quality of life here in Beautiful League City? Although the issues presented to the council are often multidimensional and can sometimes be quite challenging I have kept my promise! In response to our traffic issues we created a new Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program. The goal of this program is to ensure that trucks operated within the City limits comply with State and Federal safety standards. We have created task force to evaluate and bring novel ideas to fix the many traffic issues on both sides of our city. This includes the 518 and Interstate 45 interchange on the West and the “270, 518, 2094” mess on the East. Rest assured, these issues are being examined almost daily, but it just gets tougher everyday as people continue to move into our wonderful city! But we will continue the effort…I promise! Public safety, which is so important to quality of life, remained in the forefront the last three years! We added 18 positions to our public safety departments. In 2007 alone, we added 10 new police officers, the most in the history of League City. As we grow we will continue our efforts to work hand and hand with the Police Department Leadership to put adequate protection in our neighborhoods. And because League City leadership maintains an aggressive economic development program our local economy remains strong and is getting stronger everyday. We have seen an almost 50% increase in local sales tax receipts during my three year term. Times are good in League City and they will only get better if you honor me with three more years to continue the effort. Is it really any wonder why I remain League City Proud! |
